Du Preez Out, Dortley Uncertain For Sekhukhune Clash

Kaizer Chiefs assistant coach Khalil Ben Youssef has confirmed that striker Ashley du Preez will miss the clash against Sekhukhune United at Moses Mabhida Stadium on Sunday (15:30) due to a fractured hand.
Du Preez also missed the previous match against Golden Arrows at the same venue in Durban last weekend, where Chiefs suffered a 1-0 defeat, due to the same injury.
The former Stellenbosch striker was substituted in the 30th minute of the match against his former club at FNB Stadium two weeks ago due to a poor performance. Coach Nasreddine Nabi was not pleased with his display and replaced him with Mfundo Vilakazi.
Ben Youssef also confirmed that Rushwin Dortley faces a 50/50 chance of featuring for Chiefs against Sekhukhune due to an undisclosed injury.
The Bafana Bafana international, like du Preez, missed the loss to Arrows in Durban. His last appearance for the club was in the victory over Stellenbosch on January 8th.
“For Du Preez will be out,” said Ben Youssef.
“Because he fractured his hands. For Dortley, it’s still 50-50 because when he went with the Bafana Bafana team, he got an injury.
“So, we try always every week to manage his situation. Sometimes he is involved in two sessions and he is national team player so we have to protect him.
“But it is 50-50 for this game but we are waiting for the medical department to advise us.”
Ben Youssef will be in charge against Sekhukhune alongside second assistant Cedric Kaze, as coach Nabi was red-carded at the end of the game against Arrows due to his dissatisfaction with the officiating
This will be Nabi’s first suspension, and he will also be suspended for the Nedbank Cup round of 32 match against Free Agents at FNB Stadium next weekend.
