Khoza Acknowledges Fan Frustration As Sundowns Target MTN8 Glory
Mamelodi Sundowns defender Malibongwe Khoza admits the squad has felt the heat from frustrated supporters over their recent domestic cup record.
However, Khoza insists Chloorkop is determined to silence critics by claiming the MTN8 title.
After relinquishing their league crown to Orlando Pirates last season, Sundowns booked their spot on the 10 October MTN8 final against the Buccaneers on away goals following a 3-2 victory [3-3 on aggregate] over Golden Arrows on Sunday.

Speaking ahead of Wednesday’s Betway Premiership clash against Milford FC at Loftus Versfeld Stadium, Khoza acknowledged the elevated pressure surrounding the club’s domestic performance.
Sundowns last lifted a domestic knockout trophy during the 2021/22 season, when they won the MTN8.
“It feels amazing because it is something we always wanted to do,” Khoza said.
“A lot of people are complaining that we are not putting more focus on the local competitions. We want to make sure that we play the final and try to win it.”

Sundowns return to league action at Loftus Versfeld, a venue where they have remained unbeaten in league play since the final day of the 2023/24 campaign against Cape Town City.
Despite their formidable home record, Khoza warned against underestimating newly promoted Milford FC. Milford currently sit fourth in the standings with seven points from four matches, having recovered from an opening-day defeat against Orlando Pirates to go unbeaten in their last three outings.
“Of course, from our side, we are expecting a very energetic team, a very counter-attacking style of play,” Khoza noted.
“I think they will come with a lot of energy. But I think we are ready for them, and I think we will give it all for our supporters.”
