Lebitso Sidelined With Broken Collarbone

Orlando Pirates have confirmed that right-back Thabiso Lebitso will be sidelined for some time after suffering a broken collarbone.
Lebitso, who has impressed since joining the Soweto giants, was forced off the field after just 17 minutes during their 4-0 victory over Royal AM in a DStv Premiership match at Harry Gwala Stadium on Sunday.
The former Chippa United defender was replaced by Thabiso Monyane. Two minutes later, Pirates opened the scoring through a contentious penalty converted by Patrick Maswanganyi, with some believing the contact occurred outside the box.
“The Bucs medical team has revealed to Orlandopiratesfc.com that the 28-year-old right back has suffered a broken collarbone, which requires surgical intervention,” said Pirates in a statement.
“The prognosis of how long Lebitso will be out for will be known post his procedure.”
Since his January transfer window move from the Chilli Boyz, Lebitso has been a livewire for Pirates. He has featured in 10 matches and scored a stunning goal in the Soweto Derby against Kaizer Chiefs at FNB Stadium earlier this month, a strike that earned him the DStv Premiership Goal of the Month award.
