MTN8 Quarter-Final Pairings Announced For 2024

The MTN8 quarter-final fixtures for the 2024/25 season have been confirmed following the conclusion of the 2023/24 DStv Premiership campaign.

Record-breaking DStv Premiership champions Mamelodi Sundowns, despite their recent 1-0 defeat to Cape Town City that ended their invincible run, will begin the MTN8 title at home against Polokwane City. Rise and Shine secured an eighth-place finish in the league with a victory over TS Galaxy.

Defending champions Orlando Pirates will be looking to make it a historic three-peat in the MTN8 as they take on SuperSport United. Both teams drew their final league game of the season at Orlando Stadium, setting up another exciting clash.

Stellenbosch, who narrowly missed out on a second-place finish in the league after a 2-1 loss to Richards Bay, will now host TS Galaxy in the MTN8 quarterfinals. The Rockets finished the season in seventh place.

Sekhukhune United, who secured a strong fourth-place finish with a win against Chippa United on the final day, will host Cape Town City at home. City, under coach Eric Tinkler, finished the league season in sixth place.

The MTN8 quarter-final matches will be played in August and September, leading up to the final in October.
