Nabi Sets Sights On Nedbank Cup Glory For Chiefs

Kaizer Chiefs coach Nasreddine Nabi has expressed his determination to bring the Nedbank Cup to the Amakhosi faithful, ahead of their highly anticipated final against Orlando Pirates at Moses Mabhida Stadium on Saturday.

Despite the team’s struggles in the Betway Premiership, where they currently sit in ninth place with 30 points and only two games remaining, Nabi is focused on delivering a domestic cup triumph for the fans.

“We don’t want to talk too much, but I think we’ll give our all to offer them [the fans] the Nedbank Cup,” Nabi said. “I think that’s what they want, and we’re going to do whatever we can to make them happy.”

The last time Amakhosi won the domestic cup was in 2014 under coach Stuart Baxter, who led the team to victory against Pirates at Moses Mabhida Stadium.

Nabi’s words suggest that he is aware of the significance of this match and the weight of expectation on his team.

Meanwhile, the Buccaneers, under the guidance of Spanish mentor Jose Riveiro, will be looking to make history by winning the Nedbank Cup for the third time in a row.

Pirates have already achieved this feat in the MTN8 Cup, and they will be eager to add another trophy to their collection.

The stage is set for an electrifying encounter between two of South Africa’s biggest clubs.

With the Amakhosi struggling in the league, the Nedbank Cup final represents a chance for redemption and a much-needed trophy to lift the morale of the team and the fans.
