PSL Announces Carling Knockout Quarterfinal Fixtures And Ticket Details
The Premier Soccer League (PSL) has announced that tickets for the Carling Knockout quarterfinals are now on sale, along with confirmation of the match venues and dates.
The standout fixture of the round will see Orlando Pirates host Magesi FC at Orlando Stadium on 28 October.
Pirates booked their place in the last eight after a 1-0 victory over Siwelele FC in the Round of 16 on Saturday, thanks to a stunning strike from Mbekezeli Mbokazi at the same venue.
The upcoming clash will be a repeat of last season’s first-round encounter, where Magesi stunned Pirates at Orlando Stadium.
The Limpopo-based side advanced to this year’s quarterfinals following a thrilling 3-2 win over AmaZulu at the Moses Mabhida Stadium on Sunday. Magesi went on to win the competition last season, defeating Mamelodi Sundowns in the final.
Elsewhere, Golden Arrows, who eliminated Sekhukhune United in the first round on Saturday, will host TS Galaxy — last season’s Carling Knockout runners-up — at the King Zwelithini Stadium on 26 October.
Marumo Gallants, who caused a major upset by knocking out Mamelodi Sundowns on penalties, will host Stellenbosch FC on 29 October. Stellenbosch lifted the Carling Knockout trophy in the 2023/24 season after beating TS Galaxy in the final and advanced this year by eliminating Kaizer Chiefs on penalties.
In another mouthwatering tie, Richards Bay, who overcame Chippa United, will face Durban City in a KwaZulu-Natal derby on 25 October, marking the first fixture of the quarterfinal round.
