Springbok Speedster Kolbe Back In Training

Double World Cup winner Cheslin Kolbe is back with the Springboks in Pretoria. He’ll undergo rehab under the team’s medical staff with hopes of being selected for the opening test against Ireland in the upcoming Castle Lager Incoming Tour.

Kolbe, who picked up a knee niggle in Japan, was released on Monday for specialist consultation after discussions with the Boks’ medical team on Sunday. He returned to camp on Wednesday to begin his rehabilitation program.

The matchday squad announcement for the first test against Wales at Twickenham on 22 June is on Tuesday.

This test is followed by the Castle Lager Incoming Series featuring back-to-back tests against Ireland in Pretoria and Durban ( 6 July and 13 July), and a historic first test against Portugal in Bloemfontein on 20 July.

The Boks then head into the Castle Lager Rugby Championship, facing Australia in Brisbane and Perth (10 August and 17 August) before back-to-back home tests against New Zealand (31 August and 7 September).

A short trip to Argentina follows, with tests against the Pumas in Santiago (21 September) and Nelspruit (28 September).

The year concludes with the traditional year-end tour, featuring tests against Scotland (10 November), England (16 November), and Wales (23 November).
