Truter Finds A New Home After Bay Exit
Just days after being dismissed by Richards Bay, coach Brandon Truter has found a new role.
He has been appointed as the head coach of Motsepe Foundation Championship side Upington City.
Truter is returning to Upington, a club he left during the off-season to take over at Richards Bay in KwaZulu-Natal.
Truter replaces Thulani Nkosi, following Upington’s recent defeats in the second-tier competition.
“… As we bid farewell to coach Nkosi, we are pleased to announce that Coach Brandon Truter will take over as the new Head Coach of Upington City FC, effective immediately,” added the club statement.
“Coach Truter returns to the club, where he previously served as senior coach, and his experience and familiarity with the team will be invaluable in guiding the players and staff during this transition period.
“We are delighted to welcome Coach Truter back to Upington City FC. His appointment is a significant boost to the team, and we are confident that he will lead the team to success.”
Upington currently sits in 11th place in the Motsepe Foundation Championship with 16 points from 13 matches. They suffered a 3-1 home defeat to Mpumalanga side Kruger United on Sunday.
Truter’s first match in charge of Upington will be against Hungry Lions at Suzuki Stadium in Kimberly on Friday (15:30).
