Pirates boosted with the return of Monnapule Saleng

Orlando Pirates have been boosted by the return of star winger Monnapule Saleng as they face Stellenbosch FC in the MTN8 final at the Moses Mabhida Stadium on Saturday (18:00).

Saleng missed the last weekend’s league match against Richards Bay at King Zwelithini Stadium in Durban, having picked out an injury in the previous week game against Polokwane City, the game he scored. However, there is not place for central defender Olisa Ndah.

Ndah, just like Saleng, missed Bay’s game after he picked up a knee injury against Rise and Shine.

Saleng appears to be a revived player at Pirates, as he is top scorer with four goals this season and his absence in this game was going to be missed.

When he was at his best in the 2022/23 season, he scored the winning goal as Pirates overcame AmaZulu in the Wafa Wafa Cup final at the same venue in Durban.
