Shabba Crushing On Sundowns And SA Players At FCWC

Bafana Bafana legend Siphiwe Tshabalala applauds Mamelodi Sundowns and other South African players for earning their spots in the prestigious FIFA Club World Cup, calling it an “experience you can’t buy.”
This groundbreaking event, which features top clubs and players from around the world, includes a strong South African contingent.
Alongside Mamelodi Sundowns, representing the South African Premiership, other Mzansi stars like Thembinkosi Lorch (on loan from Sundowns at Wydad Casablanca), Cassius Mailula (Wydad), and Elias Mokwana (Esperance) are set to feature.
Having himself experienced the pinnacle of international football, famously scoring the iconic opening goal of the 2010 FIFA World Cup against Mexico, Tshabalala shared his insights on Sundowns and the South African players’ involvement.
“It’s good for football,” said Tshabalala in the Albany Baked for Greatness with Shabba media launch event on Saturday.
“It’s good for footballers to play at the highest level, to compete and rub shoulders, and I must say that they’ve earned it. Hopefully, it will inspire a lot of footballers to aspire to reach that level.”
The football icon, widely admired for his historic 2010 World Cup moment, highlighted the immense pride associated with representing the nation on such a grand stage.
“The players and the club, they’ll be representing the country, so it’s a proud moment for football. I think we’re heading in the right direction, although there’s a lot of work that needs to be done in achievement,” he added.
The FIFA Club World Cup kicked off with Al Ahly drawing against Lionel Messi’s Inter Miami at Hard Rock Stadium on Sunday night.
Mamelodi Sundowns are poised to begin their Group F campaign on Wednesday [00:00], when they face Ulsan HD at Inter&Co Stadium in Orlando, Florida. Sundowns’ group also includes formidable opponents such as Borussia Dortmund and Fluminense.
