Gallants Appoints 28-Year-Old Coach
Marumo Gallants has announced the appointment of Lafitte Alexandre as the club’s new head coach.
The 28-year-old French tactician brings a strong coaching background from both France and Côte d’Ivoire. He replaces Abdelsam Ouaddou, who recently moved to Orlando Pirates on Monday.
Alexandre’s most recent success was with Stade d’Abidjan, where he guided the team to the Ivorian League title and secured qualification for the CAF Champions League group stages during the 2023/24 season.
“Coach Alexandre has a clear understanding of the direction we are taking as a club,” Gallants chairman Abram Sello said.
“He joins ahead of pre-season, which is critical for continuity and alignment with our objectives.”
Coach Alexandre is expected to arrive in South Africa in two weeks to join the team, with the club’s official pre-season training set to begin on 1 July.
