Hannover 96 Signs SuperSport Defender

German club Hannover 96 has announced the signing of SuperSport United defender Ime Okon.
The 21-year-old, who was previously linked with Kaizer Chiefs, was unveiled by the German side on Tuesday after traveling on Monday evening.
Okon is Hannover 96’s 13th summer signing and has signed for four years until 30 June 2029.
Okon has joined Hannover 96 on a free transfer, as his contract with SuperSport United expired on Monday. Before this move, he had trials in Denmark and Ukraine.
Okon leaves SuperSport after being promoted to the senior team in July 2023. During his time with the club, he featured in 57 matches across all competitions, scoring two goals.
He now joins a Hannover 96 team that boasts a history of two Bundesliga titles, though their last triumph was in the 1953/54 season. The club’s most recent major trophy was the DFB Pokal in the 1991/92 season.
