PSL Releases Draft Opening Fixtures For 2025/26 Season
The draft fixtures for the opening weekend of the 2025/26 Betway Premiership season have been released.
Kicking off the new campaign, Mamelodi Sundowns are scheduled to visit Chippa United at Buffalo City Park Stadium on Saturday, 9 August, at 3:00 PM.
While the PSL finalizes the complete fixture list in alignment with CAF and FIFA calendars, newly promoted side Orbit College will begin their season with an away trip to AmaZulu at Moses Mabhida Stadium, also at 3:00 PM on the same day.
Later that same day, Orlando Pirates, who finished second in the last three seasons, will host Sekhukhune United at Orlando Stadium.
Richards Bay, fresh off their first-ever top-eight finish last season, will return to Richards Bay for the first time since August 2021 when they host Marumo Gallants in the afternoon. Another afternoon fixture on Saturday will see a Limpopo derby as Polokwane City takes on Magesi FC at Old Peter Mokaba Stadium.
To conclude Saturday’s action, Siwelele FC, who acquired the status of SuperSport United, will host Golden Arrows at Lucas Moripe Stadium at 8:00 PM.
On Sunday, 10 August, newly promoted Durban City, under the guidance of experienced coach Gavin Hunt, will visit TS Galaxy at Mbombela Stadium.
Closing out the opening weekend, Kaizer Chiefs, who missed out on a top-eight finish for the second consecutive season last term, will visit Stellenbosch FC at Athlone Stadium.
Stellenbosch was previously prohibited by the PSL from hosting “the big three” at Danie Craven Stadium after pitch invasions by fans a few seasons ago.
These opening league matches will follow the MTN8 quarter-final fixtures, which are scheduled for 2 and 3 August.
