Grobler’s Brace Fires Sekhukhune Into MTN8 Semi-Finals

Veteran striker Bradley Grobler scored twice to lead Sekhukhune United to a thrilling 3-2 comeback victory over TS Galaxy in the MTN8 quarter-final at New Peter Mokaba Stadium on Saturday.
The match was an incredible turnaround for Sekhukhune, who found themselves 2-0 down before halftime. Grobler, making his debut after joining from SuperSport United in the offseason, was instrumental in sparking the comeback.
Both teams were looking to secure their first-ever MTN8 semi-final berth, and Galaxy appeared to be in control early on. Mpho Mvelase opened the scoring for the visitors in the 14th minute, and Victor Letsoalo added a second goal from close range in the 40th minute.
Just before the break, Sekhukhune pulled one back. Grobler rose highest to connect with a corner kick from Keletso Makgalwa, beating Galaxy goalkeeper Ira Tapé to make it 2-1 in the 43rd minute.
In the second half, Galaxy had a golden opportunity to extend their lead when Mvelase missed a close-range header. Sekhukhune capitalized on that miss, with Grobler netting his second goal in the 64th minute after a pass from substitute Linda Mntambo.
Sekhukhune completed the comeback in the 70th minute when Vusumuzi Mncube stole the ball from a defender and fired a low shot past Tapé, securing a 3-2 lead.
With the victory, Sekhukhune joins defending champions Orlando Pirates, who beat Polokwane City earlier on Saturday, in the semi-finals.
The remaining two quarter-final matches will be played on Sunday. Stellenbosch will host AmaZulu at Athlone Stadium, and Mamelodi Sundowns will take on debutants Richards Bay at Lucas Moripe Stadium. The semi-final draw will be held after the Sundowns and Richards Bay match.
