Pirates Draw Magesi In Carling Knockout Quarterfinals

Orlando Pirates will host Magesi FC in the Carling Knockout quarterfinals after the draw was conducted on Sunday.
Pirates advanced to the last eight following a 1-0 victory over Siwelele FC in the Round of 16 on Saturday, courtesy of a stunning strike from Mbekezeli Mbokazi at Orlando Stadium.
The upcoming clash will be a repeat of last season’s first-round encounter, where Magesi stunned Pirates at the same venue.
The Limpopo-based side booked their place in the quarterfinals after a thrilling 3-2 win over AmaZulu at the Moses Mabhida Stadium on Sunday. Magesi went on to win the competition last season after defeating Mamelodi Sundowns in the final.
Elsewhere, Golden Arrows, who eliminated Sekhukhune United in the first round on Saturday, will host TS Galaxy, who are Carling Knockout runners-up in the 2023/24 season.
Marumo Gallants, fresh from their dramatic penalty shootout victory over Mamelodi Sundowns, will host Stellenbosch FC, who lifted the Carling Knockout trophy in the 2023/24 season. Stellies secured their spot by eliminating Kaizer Chiefs on penalties on Sunday.
