Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium To Host Bafana Bafana vs Zambia

The South African Football Association (SAFA) has confirmed that the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium will host Zambia in this month’s international friendly match.

The game, scheduled for 15 November, will be Bafana Bafana’s final friendly of the year before the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) kicks off in December in Morocco.

Bafana Bafana coach Hugo Broos is expected to announce his final squad for the encounter against Chipolopolo on Thursday.

“Gqeberha in the Eastern Cape will host the international friendly match between 2026 FIFA World Cup-bound Bafana Bafana and regional neighbours Zambia this month,” SAFA said in a statement.

“The match will be played at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium in the Eastern Cape on Saturday, 15 November 2025, as part of coach Hugo Broos’ preparations for this year’s Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.

“The South African Football Association (SAFA) will confirm ticketing details in the coming days. Kick-off in Gqeberha will be at 18:00.”

Meanwhile, Zambia will arrive in South Africa without a head coach, following their recent split with legendary tactician Avram Grant.

This comes despite the former Chelsea and West Ham United manager having successfully guided Chipolopolo to qualification for the AFCON later this year.
