KZN Netball Announces Nominees For Its 10th Edition Of The KZN Netball Awards

KwaZulu-Natal Netball has announced the nominees for the landmark 10th Edition of the KZN Netball Awards, set to take place on Saturday, 22 November, at Bon Hotel eMpangeni.

The nominees were unveiled on Tuesday evening during a special briefing at the Prime Human Performance Institute, Moses Mabhida Stadium.

Addressing the media, KZN Netball President, Mrs Gugu Ngema, confirmed that this year’s edition will feature 25 categories, reflecting the growth and evolution of the sport in the province. She further emphasized the urgent need for greater corporate support to help elevate netball and empower athletes across all levels.

The announcement was attended by key stakeholders, including Mr Sbusiso Dlamini from the KZN Sport Confederation and Mr Manqoba Bhengu, Acting Director at the Department of Sports, Arts and Culture, who continue to play a vital role in driving sport development initiatives in the province.

The KZN Netball Awards remain the pinnacle of recognition in the provincial netball calendar, honouring excellence, leadership, sportsmanship, and commitment across the sport. The awards celebrate athletes, coaches, officials, administrators, and media professionals who contribute to the advancement of netball in KwaZulu-Natal.

This annual celebration not only acknowledges exceptional talent but also reinforces netball’s values of inclusivity, fair play, unity, and community development. It continues to motivate excellence, inspire future stars, and unite all 11 districts of KwaZulu-Natal under one proud provincial banner.

KZN Netball continues to raise the bar in sport development, producing national stars, creating groundbreaking programmes, and strengthening the footprint of women’s sport across the province through innovation and teamwork.

With the support of the Department of Sports, Arts and Culture, the KZN Sport Confederation, the National Lotteries Commission, and aQuellé, the KZN Netball calendar has been a remarkable success this year.

Their collective commitment made it possible to host major events, including the upcoming Annual KZN Netball Awards and the Inaugural Ubhuqu Tournament, which will take place in KwaMsane from 22 -23 November.
