Siwelele In Talks With Belgium Club Over Amajita Striker

Siwelele have confirmed that they are in advanced talks with Belgian First Division B side K. Beerschot V.A. over the potential transfer of attacker Siviwe Magididigi.

Siwelele said Beerschot first approached them late last year, but the club declined the initial offer, stating that it did not reflect the value Magididigi has brought to the team, nor the impact they believed he was still capable of making.

“However, through ongoing discussions, it became clear that the player is eager to test himself internationally and embrace a new chapter abroad,” Siwelele said in a statement.

“We have always believed in matching ambition with opportunity. When Beerschot significantly improved their offer—more than doubling their initial proposal—the deal became acceptable and aligned with the best interests of Siwelele FC.

“While the transfer is not yet final, we are now in the process of concluding negotiations. We fully understand the affection Magididigi has earned among the Siwelele faithful and acknowledge the emotional connection many supporters feel.

“Regardless of the outcome, he will forever be part of our story. He has been a foundational player in our maiden campaign and a young man who helped set standards both on the field and in the dressing room.”

The 20-year-old was promoted to the first team this season after the club acquired the status of SuperSport United. He has scored four goals in 12 league appearances for Siwelele.

Magididigi was also part of the Amajita squad that reached the knockout stages of the FIFA U-20 World Cup in October last year, scoring two goals in four matches before South Africa were eliminated by Colombia.

“If this move is completed, he will carry Siwelele’s spirit with him and will always have a home in Bloemfontein,” the club concluded.
