Fabisch To Arrive On Friday To Complete Arrows Move
Sportswire has been informed that Jonah Fabisch is scheduled to arrive at King Shaka International Airport on Friday to finalize his move to Golden Arrows.
Fabisch traveled on Thursday from Hamburg to Frankfurt, Germany. He will land in Johannesburg before taking a connecting flight to Durban, having completed the other necessary paperwork.
This website has been informed that Fabisch will arrive on Friday afternoon and head straight to his hotel to rest, which explains why Abafana Bes’thende have not yet officially confirmed his signature.
As he recovers from his travel, Fabisch will watch from afar when Arrows take on Kaizer Chiefs—a club he was previously linked with—in the MTN8 quarter-finals at FNB Stadium on Sunday.
Sportswire revealed late last month that the Zimbabwean international was closing in on a move to the PSL. Although he arrived in the country a few weeks ago amid speculation connecting him with Amakhosi, his destination was always Durban.
He is currently a free agent following his departure from German fourth-tier side Magdeburg II.
Fabisch was born in Kenya to a German father and a Zimbabwean Shona mother. He spent 11 formative years developing inside Hamburger SV’s youth academy in Germany, bringing high-level European tactical training to the Durban outfit.
Athleticism runs deep in his family. His father, the late Reinhard Fabisch, was a renowned football manager who famously led Zimbabwe’s legendary “Dream Team” in the 1990s and had a coaching stint with Mamelodi Sundowns in 1996. His mother, Chawada Kachidza, is a former Zimbabwean national record holder in the 100m hurdles.
Having opted to represent Zimbabwe internationally, Fabisch was part of the Warriors squad that competed at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations. He featured in all three group-stage matches, including the clash against Bafana Bafana, and scored in Zimbabwe’s 1-1 draw against Angola. However, the Warriors were eliminated after finishing behind group winners Egypt and runners-up South Africa.
