Golden Arrows Close To Fabisch Signing
Golden Arrows are closing in on the signing of Zimbabwe international Jonah Fabisch, who has arrived in Durban, Sportswire has learnt.
The 24-year-old midfielder had been linked with a move to Kaizer Chiefs, but that is not the case.
Instead, Fabisch travelled to Durban to complete his move to Abafana Bes’thende.
He is currently a free agent following his departure from German fourth-tier side Erzgebirge Aue.
Fabisch was born in Kenya to a German father and a Zimbabwean Shona mother.
He spent 11 formative years developing inside Hamburger SV’s youth academy in Germany, giving Arrows a player with high-level European tactical training
His father, Reinhard Fabisch, was a football manager, while his mother, Chawada Kachidza, is a former Zimbabwe national record holder in the 100m hurdles.
Reinhard famously managed Zimbabwe’s legendary “Dream Team” in the 1990s and also had a PSL coaching stint with Mamelodi Sundowns back in 1996.
Having opted to represent Zimbabwe at international level, Fabisch was part of the Warriors squad that competed at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations. He featured in all three group-stage matches, including the clash against Bafana Bafana.
He scored in Zimbabwe’s 1-1 draw against Angola, but the result was not enough to secure a place in the knockout stages.
Zimbabwe were eliminated after finishing behind group winners Egypt and runners-up Bafana Bafana.
