Saleng To Be Out For Weeks
Mamelodi Sundowns doctor Paul Maphoto has confirmed that new signing Monnapule Saleng will be sidelined with an injury and is currently undergoing rehabilitation.
Saleng did not feature in Sundowns’ 2–0 victory over his former club, Orbit College, in the Betway Premiership on Monday.
The former Orlando Pirates winger, who joined Sundowns during the January transfer window, is unavailable alongside Mothobi Mvala and Keanu Cupido, who are also nursing injuries.
“We have three players who are injured at the moment,” said Maphoto.
“Mothobi Mvala sustained a knee injury last year, underwent surgery, and is currently going through rehabilitation. Keanu Cupido is closer to returning to action; he suffered a quad strain last year in Botswana during a friendly match.
“The third player is Monnapule Saleng, who recently signed with us. He arrived with an injury from Orbit College and is currently undergoing rehabilitation,” Maphoto added.
The win over Orbit College saw Sundowns move to the top of the Betway Premiership standings with 29 points after 14 matches, albeit having played two games more than second-placed Orlando Pirates.
