Adams Anticipates Tough Arrows Test As Sundowns Chase Top Spot
Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder Jayden Adams said he expects a difficult encounter in their Betway Premiership clash against Golden Arrows at Loftus Stadium on Wednesday.
Sundowns will be looking to redeem themselves after suffering a 1–0 defeat to Arrows in the reverse fixture. They will also aim to leapfrog Orlando Pirates, who currently occupy top spot on 41 points, level with them but ahead on goal difference.
Just like Sundowns, Pirates is also in action as they visit Polokwane City at Old Peter Mokaba Stadium on Wednesday.
Adams complimented the Arrows’ playing style, highlighting that it will be an exciting match to play, yet difficult.
“We expect a physical, athletic team,” said Adams.
“They are well coached, you saw the last time we met them, we lost. I think defensively, they are good. In the attack, they are very good. So, it’s going to be a nice one for us, a challenging one for us.”
The former Stellenbosch maestro further expressed his satisfaction about the man of the match award he claimed at their 3-1 victory over Sekhukhune United on Sunday.
“It was such a wonderful feeling to get the Man of the Match award and to perform so well for the team,” Adams stated.
“But honestly, it was a team effort. It does not only belong to me, but it also goes to the whole team. For me, I just put in extra effort, and that gave me the accolade,” said Adams.
