Ambushed In Bloem! Ex-Chiefs Winger Potsane Haunts Amakhosi

Kaizer Chiefs saw their seven-match unbeaten run come to an end after a disappointing 2–0 defeat to Siwelele at Toyota Stadium on Wednesday evening in the Betway Premiership.
Amakhosi entered the match looking to build on a strong run of form, having recorded five wins and two draws in their previous seven games, including a stalemate against Orlando Pirates in the Soweto Derby last Sunday.
Despite the loss, Chiefs remain third on the table with 47 points from 26 matches as they continue their push to secure CAF Confederation Cup qualification after exiting in the group stages this season.
The goals were scored by former Chiefs winger Tebogo Potsane and Siphesihle Jeza, both finding the net in the first half as Amakhosi were punished for defensive lapses.
The Phefeni Glamour Boys will next face a stern test against Mamelodi Sundowns next Wednesday at Loftus Versfeld Stadium. The sides played out a goalless draw in their first-round meeting at FNB Stadium.
Chiefs struggled to find their rhythm early on, with Siwelele dominating the first half and even finding the net three times, although one effort was disallowed.
Jeza believed he had opened the scoring within the first 10 minutes, but his goal was ruled out.
However, Potsane responded shortly after, scoring with a left-footed finish from close range after Brandon Petersen’s save fell kindly to him—similar to Kamogelo Sebelebele’s goal in the derby over the weekend.
Siwelele doubled their advantage before halftime, with Jeza converting from the centre of the box after being set up by Gamphani Lungu.
Chiefs improved after the break, showing more intent than in the first half, while Siwelele maintained their intensity as both sides created chances.
However, neither team was able to add to the scoreline, and the match ended 2–0 in favour of Siwelele.
