Magesi Appoint Mammila As Director Of Football

Relegated side Magesi has appointed Morgan Mammila as the club’s new director of football as they look to secure a quick return to the elite league next season.
Mammila had been without a club since leaving Chippa United last season, where he served in a similar capacity and also had a brief stint as caretaker coach. He joins a Magesi side that was relegated to the Motsepe Foundation Championship last term following the PSL promotion/relegation playoffs.
“Magesi FC is proud to announce the appointment of Mr. Morgan Mammila as our new Director of Football ahead of the 2026/27 season,” the club announced in a statement.
“Mr. Mammila brings a wealth of experience in South African football, having worked across both the PSL and the Motsepe Foundation Championship. He is known for his discipline, passion, and ability to build competitive teams with a strong winning mentality.
“In his role as Director of Football, Mr. Mammila will oversee the club’s technical structure, player recruitment, youth development pathway, and overall football philosophy. We believe his leadership, experience, and vision will play a key role in taking the club forward both on and off the pitch. Please join us in welcoming Morgan to the Dikwena family.”
With Mammila’s appointment secured, Magesi must now turn their attention to finding a new head coach following the mass departure of their technical team. Head coach Allan Freese recently left the club alongside assistant coach Abram Nteo, fitness coach Pedro Picarro, and goalkeeper coach Fiston Kabwanga.
For Mammila—a former police officer—the move marks a homecoming to Limpopo. He previously enjoyed a highly successful spell in the province as CEO of Baroka FC, famously guiding them to the Carling Knockout Cup title during the 2018/19 season.
