Chiefs Unveil Bold New Kappa Home And Away Kits for 2026/27 Season

Kaizer Chiefs have officially launched their home and away kits for the 2026/27 season as the club sets its sights on reclaiming its glory days.

“Kaizer Chiefs, in partnership with Kappa, proudly announce the launch of the official 2026/27 home and away jerseys,” the club confirmed in a statement. “Marking three years of collaboration and three successive kit releases, the new designs continue to blend tradition, innovation, and style for players and Amakhosi supporters alike.”

According to the club, the new home jersey emphasizes sophistication and class. It features the club’s iconic gold base embellished with subtle geometric patterns inspired by Zulu culture—symbolizing a traditional shield—layered with black pin-stripes and finished with a sleek black collar. The club noted that the shirt is designed not only for matchdays but also as a lifestyle essential for everyday wear.

Meanwhile, the new away jersey leans heavily into Amakhosi pride. The striking design features a bold black base accented by gold and grey zigzag trimmings that form a V-shape across the chest, mimicking a lion’s mane. The club revealed that the modern twist pays homage to the memorable 1989 and 1992/93 seasons, aiming to evoke deep nostalgia among loyal Glamour Boys supporters.

For the first time, both the home and away kits will be available in limited long-sleeve versions, catering to colder matchdays. Additionally, the home jersey will feature a tailored women’s cut to ensure a comfortable, stylish fit for female fans.

The manufacturing process also highlights a shift toward environmental responsibility, with all player and fan jerseys constructed from recycled materials. The high-performance product utilizes Kappa’s advanced fabric technology to optimize sweat and rain management during challenging weather conditions.

Speaking on the launch, Kaizer Chiefs Marketing Director Jessica Motaung expressed her excitement for the campaign ahead.

“Like we have done over the past three seasons, we have worked hard to come up with glamorous and stylish designs that manifest the spirit of our mantra for the season, The Kingdom Rises,” Motaung said. “It is intended to make our players and supporters stand out and be noticed, whether at the stadium or elsewhere. The away jersey roars with pride and is one very strong jersey. We thank Kappa again for their partnership and look forward to another season of success on and off the field.”

The official retail rollout begins on Friday, 24 July 2026. The jerseys will be available at selected retailers, including Totalsports, Studio 88, Sportsmans Warehouse, and Mike’s Sports. The recommended retail price is set at R1,399 for the short-sleeve replica and R1,599 for the long-sleeve option.
