Giant-Killers Strike Again! Milford FC Stun Golden Arrows In KZN Premier’s Cup Shocker
Milford’s giant-killing run shows no signs of slowing down after they knocked Golden Arrows out of the KZN Premier’s Cup with a 1-0 playoff victory to book their place in the semi-finals at Sugar Ray Xulu Stadium on Saturday.
Khanyisani Radebe scored the decisive goal early in the second half after the teams went into the break locked at 0-0.
Golden Arrows, who last won the competition in 2019 under Steve Komphela at King Zwelithini Stadium in Umlazi, squandered a golden opportunity to equalise when Sabelo Sithole blazed over the crossbar from close range with the goal at his mercy.
Milford will face the winner of the clash between Durban City and defending champions Richards Bay in the semi-finals.
The semi-final is scheduled to take place at Princess Magogo Stadium on Sunday at 10:00.
Milford FC famously built their reputation as giant-killers during the 2024 Nedbank Cup when they eliminated PSL giants Kaizer Chiefs in a dramatic penalty shootout. They reinforced that reputation last season by knocking out Sekhukhune United before eventually falling to TS Galaxy in the semi-finals.
Ahead of their top-flight debut next season, Milford will kick off their 2026/27 Betway Premiership campaign against defending champions Orlando Pirates at Orlando Stadium on 1 August.
