“Delighted For These Boys”: Ouaddou Hails Young Duo After Clinical Pirates Display
Orlando Pirates head coach Abdeslam Ouaddou praised young attackers Boitumelo Radiopane and Yanela Mbuthuma after both found the net in the Buccaneers’ emphatic 4-0 Betway Premiership victory over Kruger United.
The Buccaneers produced a clinical display at Mbombela Stadium on Tuesday evening to dispatch the newly promoted side, extending their unbeaten start to the league campaign as they continue their title defense.
The victory keeps Pirates top of the Betway Premiership standings with 13 points from five matches—three points clear of second-placed Mamelodi Sundowns, whom they are set to meet in the MTN8 final on October 10.
Radiopane scored his second goal in as many games, while Mbuthuma came off the bench to score a second-half brace against the Motsepe Foundation Championship winners. Mbuthuma’s double continues a standout week for the young forward, following his two-assist performance in the MTN8 semi-final victory over Sekhukhune United on Saturday.
Ouaddou commended the youthful duo for capitalizing on their opportunities, noting that their clinical finishing will accelerate their development and confidence.
“Sometimes there are games where you have a lot of opportunities, a lot of chances to score and you don’t score,” said Ouaddou on SuperSport TV.
“It’s a game where we didn’t have a lot of chances, but we were very efficient. I’m very happy for these boys; it will give them confidence. I’m really happy for them and for their goals.”
