The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has confirmed that the draw for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) will take place on 27 January 2025 in Morocco.

Bafana Bafana, who qualified for the tournament, will be seeded in the draw due to their top-10 ranking in the CAF rankings. This means they will avoid facing strong teams like Senegal, Egypt, Algeria, Nigeria, Ivory Coast, Cameroon, Mali, and Tunisia.

However, the final seeding positions could change based on the upcoming FIFA World Ranking, which will be released on 19 December.

The CAF Executive Committee also announced other key dates for upcoming competitions:

CAF President Dr. Patrice Motsepe also held a meeting with the 54 CAF Member Associations to discuss the development of football in Africa, including strengthening partnerships with governments, FIFA, other confederations, and the private sector.

The CAF Awards 2024 will be held later tonight in Morocco.
