Salim Magoola, the coveted 29-year-old goalkeeper previously linked to Kaizer Chiefs, has committed his future to Richards Bay with a three-year contract extension. He’ll be protected by the club until 2027.

The Ugandan international joined Bay ahead of the 2022/23 season from Pretoria University. While not replicating his stellar 2022/23 campaign with 12 clean sheets in 28 matches, Magoola remained a key figure. He played all four allocated promotion/relegation playoff matches and featured in 31 total fixtures, keeping 10 clean sheets.

After securing top-flight status for Bay, Magoola previously emphasized his family’s role in any transfer decision. However, it’s clear a joint decision has been made, with Magoola extending his stay at the club he feels at home with.

Magoola has amassed 59 appearances and 22 clean sheets in all competitions for Richards Bay since his arrival.
