Beganovic Praises Dolly In Reclaiming Form

TS Galaxy coach Adnan Beganovic is pleased with Keagan Dolly’s performance, stating that the player is fulfilling his expectations by consistently delivering crucial final passes.

Galaxy signed Dolly as a free agent in November, after the season had already commenced. This followed his release from Kaizer Chiefs at the end of the previous season.

The former Mamelodi Sundowns attacker has been in excellent form for Galaxy, contributing to their rise to fourth place in the league table.

He has featured in 14 matches across all competitions, scoring two goals.

Dolly appears to be regaining the form he displayed during his impressive 2021/22 season with Chiefs, upon his return from Montpellier in France.

“When Keagan Dolly joined us in November, I specifically sought him out because of my familiarity with his abilities from his time at Chiefs,” said Beganovic.

“I recognized his qualities and skills, and I knew he could excel as a number 10, particularly with his powerful long-range shot, which we needed.

“We now have that threat with Nhlanhla Mgaga and Dolly, who delivered a brilliant final pass, precisely what we require.”

Initially, Galaxy moved into fourth place after defeating AmaZulu 2-1 in the Betway Premiership at King Zwelithini Stadium on Friday.

However, Stellenbosch has since overtaken them, holding a better goal difference and 35 points after 21 matches, with two games in hand over Galaxy, after their victory against Sekhukhune United over the weekend.

Under Beganovic, who replaced Sead Ramovic in November, Galaxy’s performance suggests they could surpass their sixth-place finish from last season.

“From my initial interview, I expressed my desire to implement a different style of football,” Beganovic stated.

“I believe this team possesses the quality to play differently. We have a compact squad of 21 players, but they are highly talented.

“Even with the departure of two players, we can maintain our attractive style of play. I aim to utilize the ‘red zones’ and ‘golden zones’ effectively.”

Galaxy recently sold Samukele Kabini to Molde FK in Norway, following his breakthrough season with the Mpumalanga club.

“My vision is to prioritize ball possession, creating opportunities through possession, and attacking space,” Beganovic continued.

“Regardless of external opinions, I focus on maximizing our potential and preparing the team to execute my desired style of play.

“I believe we have demonstrated significant progress since my arrival.”
