Cele Lauds New Chiefs Signings

Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Thabo Cele has lauded the new signings, stating that they understand the club’s goals and that they will add value to the team.

Chiefs have come back from their pre-season tour in the Netherlands, travelling with new signings to prepare them for the 2025/26 season.

With interesting names added to the squad, Thabiso Monyane, Ethan Chislett, Flavio Silva, Nkanyiso Shinga, and the two players who didn’t travel with the squad, Siphesihle Ndlovu and Paseko Mako.

Cele has revealed that they’re gelling well with the new arrivals as they understand very well what is at stake and feel like the games in Europe have strengthened the bond amongst them.

“It was important for the new guys to come in, and we know that they have quality, they are going to add value to our team, and we need them,” said Cele

“So me seeing what I see from my perspective, I feel like they also understand the mission that is at hand. So we’re gelling together beautifully, and there’s positivity around the team, and not like fake positivity, I feel it’s real, it’s real because in the Netherlands, we also played some difficult games there. 

“So we got tested, so through the test, that’s where you really see the team. I feel like in those tests, we also felt and we became more, more together, and we know the mission, we talk amongst ourselves.

“We know the mission of this season, but as I said, it’s like 90 minutes trying to get those three points, those wins when we play a cup.

“So even the new guys understand that, the mandate, the mission. That’s what we are here for,” Cele stated.

Meanwhile, the Glamour Boys are gearing up for their Saturday’s anticipated Toyota Cup clash against the Ghanaian-based side, Asante Kotoko, at Moses Mabhida Stadium.

Cele has urged the supporters to come in their numbers, noting the importance of having them, especially for the upcoming season.

“Like I said in the airport when we saw our fans, on a Thursday, as you say, which is incredible,” he said. 

“I said that we need them. This season we are going to need them because without them I don’t feel the club is what it is, because Kaizer Chiefs is a spirit, and I also, as a fan, feel it.

“So we need them at the stadiums all the time, so come in numbers, we need you, Khosi.”
