Chiefs Make Another Change Vs Royal AM

Kaizer Chiefs have announced a further alteration to their Betway Premiership clash with Royal AM, rescheduling the fixture to take place at Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane on 30 November.

The match, initially set for FNB Stadium in Gauteng, has now been moved outside the province without an official explanation. Despite the venue change, all other match details remain unchanged, with kick-off scheduled for 17:30.

This adjustment marks the second time the fixture has been rescheduled, as Chiefs had previously moved the original 9 November date to 30 November due to potential conflicts with the Carling Knockout Cup semi-finals this past weekend.

Some speculate that the choice of Peter Mokaba Stadium may be linked to Chiefs’ strong attendance figures at the venue last season. In June, Polokwane municipality’s sports manager Mantlako Sebaka highlighted that Chiefs consistently drew the largest crowds there, which may have factored into the decision to relocate the game.

Chiefs will approach this clash eager to reverse their recent format in the stadium, with the narrow loss to SuperSport United still fresh in their minds. Since then, they haven’t won any of their matches, they played a stalemate against Magesi FC and lost to Mamelodi Sundowns in the Carling Knockout Cup.

As they aim to regain momentum in the league, Chiefs fans will be hoping the return to Peter Mokaba Stadium can spark a change in fortunes as the team seeks to end their winless run.
