Chiefs Make Another Offer For Velebhayi
Kaizer Chiefs have made a new improved offer to Cape Town Spurs for the services of Asanele Velebayi, after having the first bid rejected, Sportswire has been informed.
It was revealed by Spurs CEO Alexi Efstathiou that Velebayi will be remaining with the Urban Warriors after rejecting Chiefs first offer for the winger last month, stating that they had put forward a fair price for the player.
“Diamonds don’t get sold for cheap unfortunately now. If you don’t like the diamonds, then don’t buy them. No one is forcing you to buy anything. You go look for another diamond elsewhere,” Efstathiou said on Metro FM recently.
Sportswire sources close to the Naturena-based club have revealed that Amakhosi has approached Spurs with a new offer for the player, in hopes of securing the 21-year-old signature before the transfer window slams shut at midnight today 20 September.
It remains to be seen whether Spurs will accept Chiefs new bid for Velebayi in the final hours of the transfer window, or if the player will remain with the Mother City-based club.
Spurs, who were relegated at the end of last season from Betway Premiership, lost the cling-on for Chumani Butsaka and Ashley Cupido who were signed by Stellenbosch FC.
