Chiefs Sign Spurs Left-Back

Kaizer Chiefs have signed left-back Rushwin Dortley from Cape Town Spurs.

The acquisition comes as Chiefs grapple with injury concerns at the position, with Edmilson Dove and Bongani Sam picking up foot injuries during their pre-season camp in Turkey.

Dortley joins Chiefs after Spurs’ relegation back to the Motsepe Foundation Championship following a single season in the DStv Premiership. Despite their demotion, Spurs managed to defeat Chiefs in the final match of the season, a performance that reportedly impressed the Amakhosi’s technical team.

Spurs expressed their gratitude for Dortley’s contribution in a club statement, acknowledging his development during his time at the club.

The 22-year-old, who captained Bafana Bafana B at the recent COSAFA Cup, has added to Chiefs’ growing list of new signings, which also includes Sam and Fiacre Ntwari. The club has yet to officially announce these additions.

Chiefs’ disappointing 10th-place finish in the previous DStv Premiership season prompted significant changes, including the appointment of coach Nasreddine Nabi.
