Chippa Hands Mammila The Sporting Director Role

Chippa United has made a surprising move by appointing Morgan Mammila as the club’s sporting director.
The club stated that Mammila is the first person to head the role at the club.
Mammila, who was recently re-hired as an assistant coach, will now oversee the technical team, lead player recruitment, and bolster the developmental and reserve team structures to foster a pathway for young talent.
Coach Thabo September, who has faced challenges in achieving consistent results, will remain the club’s head coach and will be assisted by Mabhuti Khenyeza.
Chippa United, which saw coach Kwanele Kopo resign in January for family reasons, currently sits ninth in the Betway Premiership table with 22 points after 19 matches.
Their scheduled match against Royal AM at Harry Gwala Stadium on Tuesday has been postponed. This is due to Royal AM being placed under curatorship by the South African Revenue Service, with the club potentially facing a sale in court.
