City Appoints New Technical Team After Ertugral Sacking

Cape Town City has announced that Diogo Peral has been appointed caretaker coach until the end of the season.
Peral will be assisted by former club captain Lebogang Manyama and Roger de Sa.
These changes follow Cape Town City’s decision to part ways with coach Muhsin Ertugral on Monday, due to a series of poor results.
Ertugral was appointed in January, replacing Eric Tinkler, but the team’s performance deteriorated, resulting in a 10-match winless streak.
During his tenure, Ertugral won only three of the 14 matches he managed, losing eight, and left the club in 13th position in the Betway Premiership with 23 points from 23 matches.
“First team coach Diogo Peral will lead the team until the end of the season, assisted by Lebogang Manyama and Roger De Sa,” Cape Town City confirmed in a statement.
De Sa has been without a club since his role as assistant coach in Qatar, working alongside former Bafana Bafana coach Carlos Queiroz, which ended in December 2023.
De Sa, who has also served as an assistant coach with the Egypt national team and Iran under Queiroz, has a long-standing relationship with Cape Town City chairman John Comitis.
The 60-year-old former Bafana Bafana goalkeeper won the MTN8 with Ajax Cape Town in the 2015/16 season, defeating Kaizer Chiefs in the final at Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium
