City Bolsters Squad With Signing Of Francis
Cape Town City have secured another signing for the upcoming season, bringing in young winger Kayden Francis from Chippa United.
The 21-year-old has signed a four-year contract with Eric Tinkler’s side, according to a club announcement.
Francis impressed last season, scoring four goals in 19 appearances across all competitions for the Chilli Boyz
“The club is delighted to announce it has reached a transfer agreement with Chippa United for the acquisition of Kayden Francis. The 21-year-old winger joins the Citizens on a four-year deal. Welcome to Cape Town, Kayden,” City announced on X space.
Promoted to the Chippa United first team for the 2020/21 season, Francis made his debut against Marumo Gallants on 29 November 2020. He went on to make 20 appearances and score four goals for the Eastern Cape club.
Francis is the second official signing for City this offseason, following the arrival of Haashim Domingo. Reports suggest Kamohelo Mokotjo from Sekhukhune United and Carlinhos from Petro de Luanda are also close to joining the club.
