Pirates Retain Midfielder Timm

Orlando Pirates have secured the services of midfielder Miguel Timm for the upcoming season, signing him to a one-year contract with an option to extend for another year.

Timm’s previous contract was set to expire at the end of June, but he has committed to continuing his journey with the Soweto giants.

“Orlando Pirates Football Club can confirm that Miguel Timm has signed new deal,” Pirates said in a statement.

“The 32-year-old midfielder’s current contract was due to expire at the end of the month, but he has now put pen to paper to extend his stay at the club, keeping him on board the Bucs ship for the 2024/25 campaign, including an option for an additional season.”

The former Mpumalanga Black Aces midfielder has been a key player for Pirates since joining them from Marumo Gallants in 2021. He has contributed significantly to the team’s success, lifting two Nedbank Cups and two MTN8 trophies. Timm’s impressive performance even earned him the Man of the Match award against AmaZulu in the 2022/23 season’s Wafa Wafa trophy in Durban.

“Since his arrival in 2022, Timm has established himself as a key cog of the Pirates team and he has gone on to register 63 matches – winning four cups,” Pirates added.

“Everyone at Orlando Pirates is delighted with the news and we wish Timm the very best for the coming season.”
