City Confirms Ambina’s Departure To Norway

Cape Town City has confirmed the permanent transfer of Cameroonian midfielder Brice Ambina to Norwegian club Vålerenga.
Ambina spent the second half of the previous season on loan at Vålerenga, joining alongside Nathan Fasika. City have not yet disclosed whether Vålerenga will be signing the Congolese defender permanently.
The 22-year-old Ambina made 15 appearances in all competitions for Vålerenga during his loan spell.
“The club can confirm that we have agreed terms with Vålerenga in Norway for the permanent transfer of Brice Ambina,” City said in a statement. “Another Cape Town City player on the European stage, keep making us proud Brice.”
A ball-winning midfielder, Ambina was signed by City from Renaissance FC in Cameroon ahead of the 2021/22 season..
He played a key role in City’s DStv Premiership campaign during that as they finished second to qualify for the CAF Champions League. Across two and a half seasons with the club, Ambina featured in 55 matches across all competitions.
