Dlamini Celebrates Pirates’ Nedbank Cup Final Berth

Orlando Pirates midfielder Kabelo Dlamini is pleased that they advanced to the finals after their 1-0 victory over Marumo Gallants in the Nedbank Cup semi-finals on Sunday.

Dlamini scored the winning goal in this clash, along with man of the match, granting them their second victory out of three against the Gallants this season, including the 8-1 victory in the Betway Premiership.

The defending champions will face their Soweto rivals, Kaizer Chiefs, who triumphed over Mamelodi Sundowns 2-1 to secure their spot, at the Moses Mabhida Stadium on 10 May.

The 28-year-old stated that they knew they had to push themselves to achieve their goals, and he’s feeling happy that they’ve advanced to the final for the third time in a row under Jose Riverio, who’s scheduled to leave the club at the end of the season.

“I’d like to thank the man above for the opportunity. Yeah, we knew Marumo Gallants was not going to be a walk in the park, but we know with the guys, we have to come and push because we know what’s at stake, what our goals are,” said Dlamini.

“I’m glad we managed to go through to the finals once more.”

In the meantime, the Soweto Giants are preparing for their CAF Champions League semi-final against Pyramids FC at FNB Stadium on Saturday (18:00).
