Gallants Capture Ex-Chiefs Midfielder
Marumo Gallants is set to welcome a significant addition to their squad with the signing of former Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Darrel Matsheke.
The 26-year-old has joined Bahlabane Ba Ntwa ahead of the 2025/26 season, bringing a wealth of experience from his time playing for top-tier clubs.
Matsheke’s most recent stint was with Kruger United in the Motsepe Foundation Championship, where he signed a short-term deal during the January transfer window after parting ways with Pretoria Callies in October 2024.
Sportswire has learnt that Matsheke will commit to Gallants on a two-year deal with an option to extend his contract, signaling a long-term plan to bolster the team’s midfield.
With an impressive resume that includes stints at Uthongathi, Moroka Swallows, and Stellenbosch, Matsheke’s skills and leadership will undoubtedly be an asset to Gallants.
Notably, Matsheke played a pivotal role in Stellenbosch’s victory in the Carling Knockout in 2023, scoring a winning penalty against TS Galaxy in the Carling Knockout final in 2023 at the Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban.
