“I’m Coming Along Alright” – Can Thabiso Kutumela Save AmaZulu’s Season?

AmaZulu striker Thabiso Kutumela is focused on rediscovering his clinical best, insisting a disciplined, “game-by-game” approach is the key to his resurgence at Usuthu.
Kutumela, once regarded as one of South Africa’s most promising players, has seen his career stall in recent years. Usuthu signed him in September last year as a free agent following his departure from Richards Bay FC.
The 32-year-old had also struggled for game time at the Natal Rich Boys and is now aiming to revive his career with AmaZulu.
“In football, when you’re not playing, you have to remain professional and support the players in the starting line-up,” said Kutumela.
“When you get your chance, you must take it. I think I’m coming along alright and taking each game at a time. I just want to help the team.”
Meanwhile, AmaZulu currently sit third on the table with 37 points and will face Sekhukhune United, who are also chasing that position with 34 points, at Princess Magogo Stadium on Monday.
Kutumela says the team is targeting victory to strengthen their hold on third place.
“I think after the win against Polokwane City, we had the FIFA break and a friendly match,” he said.
“We want to keep winning because when there’s a break, momentum can drop. But we’re looking forward to this game because it’s important.
“We’re playing against a team competing with us for third place, and only one team can finish there. We have to win this game because we want it more.”
