Injury Concerns For Hollywoodbets Sharks Ahead Of Challenge Cup Final

Hollywoodbets Sharks coach John Plumtree has demanded a change in focus from his team following their narrow 25-24 defeat to Benetton in the United Rugby Championship (URC) on Saturday.

Benetton fly-half Jacob Umaga emerged as the hero, scoring a crucial try and conversion in the 79th minute to secure victory for the Italian side at Kings Park Stadium.

Sharks coach John Plumtree acknowledged that his team conceded too much territory, allowing Benetton to mount pressure and ultimately secure the win.

“It was just the territory we allowed them to have and their territory was higher than us and they got more opportunities to put us under pressure. When we turned that around and put them under pressure we scored some really good tries,” explained Plumtree.

With their URC campaign winding down, Plumtree has called for a shift in focus towards the upcoming Challenge Cup final against English club Gloucester on 25 May 25. This historic final represents the Sharks’ last chance for silverware this season.

However, there are injury concerns. The Sharks’ game plan was disrupted after key players such as Vincent Koch, Eben Etzebeth, and Lukhanyo Am were forced to leave the field early. Plumtree emphasized the importance of a swift recovery for these crucial players in preparation for the final.

“We know there’s one big game left for us this season, and it’s fast approaching,” said Plumtree. “We need to turn our full attention towards that.”

Sharks full-back Aphelele Fassie continued his impressive form, putting in a Man of the Match performance with critical tackles and the opening try of the game.

“He’s loving his rugby and playing for this team,” said Plumtree, commending Fassie’s performance. “He’s one of our most confident players, and he’s massive for us.”

Before the Challenge Cup final, the Sharks have one remaining URC fixture against Cardiff Rugby next Saturday.
