Kaze: Chiefs Are In A Better Place Than Previous Seasons

Kaizer Chiefs co-coach Cedric Kaze believes Amakhosi are performing better than they have in recent seasons.
Having finished outside the top eight last season, Chiefs are determined to end the current campaign strongly. They currently sit fourth on the Betway Premiership log with 16 points from nine matches.
Kaze insists the club is in a much better position despite criticism from fans who remain frustrated by the lack of consistent results.
“I’m going to go back a little bit. Maybe you think that my energy is fake, but I can show you. I am going to bring some facts to show you how this team is in a better and a very good place,” said Kaze.
“Last season, after nine games, we had 11 points and three defeats. Today, after nine games, we have five points more than last season, only one defeat in the league, I’m just saying about the league. Another thing we are in the CAF Confederation Cup [having won the Nedbank Cup last season], went through the first round, we drew the first leg of the second round [against AS Simba], and I believe that despite all the noise around, I don’t know if it is panic or maybe people by nature are pessimistic.
“But I will say that this team is a better, better place than the last maybe two or three seasons at this point of the season and we know that on Sunday [in the second leg of the Confed Cup second preliminary round] everyone know what they have to do and we are pretty sure that we are going to do everything to go through and we will make it happen”
Amakhosi will host AS Simba in the decisive second leg at Dobsonville Stadium on Sunday. Kaze said the players are fully prepared for the clash and understand what is at stake.
“Everything is in our hands, and I take this opportunity to appeal to our fans, to everyone that supports Kaizer Chiefs: Sunday is history, we can make history together, and I would like to ask everyone to come in numbers at Dobsonville,” he said.
“The players are ready, they are training very hard. They know what is at stake, and everyone is prepared to do everything we can for Sunday to go through.”
