Kerr Arriving On Sunday To Take Over At Gallants

Sportswire reports that coach Dylan Kerr is arriving on Sunday to finalize his move to Marumo Gallants.

Gallants secured their return to the DStv Premiership after acquiring Moroka Swallows FC in its entirety. The PSL executive committee approved the transaction and was confirmed by the club on Thursday.

This is a homecoming for Kerr to recapture past glory. He led the club to their first Nedbank Cup triumph in the 2020/21 season, defeating Chippa United in Bloemfontein.

However, they finished that season under the new management of Abram Sello who bought the club from Lawrence Mulaudzi, who had purchased Bidvest Wits.

At the start of the 2021/22 season, Sello named the club as Marumo Gallants, nicknamed as Bahlabana Bantwa.

Kerr also coached Swallows but parted ways with the Dube Birds in September 2022, when they suffered a heavy 4-0 defeat to Golden Arrows. He came back in January last year to rescue before leaving them at the end of the 2022/23 when the club was relegated to the Motsepe Foundation Championship after a crucial loss to the now-defunct Swallows.

Despite relegation, Gallants enjoyed a cup run, reaching the CAF Confederation Cup semifinals before bowing out to Young Africans of Tanzania.

By acquiring Swallows’ status, Gallants secured their return to the top flight. Now, they aim to reunite with Kerr to spearhead their Premiership campaign. Kerr also has prior coaching experience with Black Leopards and Baroka FC in the PSL.
