Lepasa Signs For New Club After Pirates Exit

Bafana Bafana striker Zakhele Lepasa has signed for Siwelele, who are currently struggling at the bottom of the Betway Premiership table.
Lepasa’s Departure From Orlando Pirates
Lepasa left Orlando Pirates at the end of last season after an injury kept him sidelined for the entire campaign.
The 28-year-old departed the Soweto giants with a record of 15 goals and two assists in 64 matches.
During his time with the Buccaneers, he lifted four MTN8 trophies and the Nedbank Cup, establishing himself as a proven striker when fit.
Siwelele Struggling in the PSL
The move sees Lepasa join a Siwelele side sitting at the bottom of the Betway Premiership with just four points from eight matches.
Ironically, their most recent defeat came at the hands of Lepasa’s former club, Pirates.
His arrival is expected to boost their attack as they fight to avoid relegation.
Previous Loan Spells and Famous Nedbank Cup Goal
Before leaving Pirates, Lepasa had loan spells at SuperSport United and TS Galaxy. It was during his time at Galaxy that he famously scored the winning goal [penalty] against Kaizer Chiefs in the 2018/19 Nedbank Cup final, making headlines across South African football.
The striker has also represented Bafana Bafana, featuring in the African Nations Championship (CHAN) in August.
His immediate challenge at Siwelele will be regaining match fitness to help the team recover from their poor start.
