Nabi Praises Amakhosi’s Effort In Draw Against Sundowns

Kaizer Chiefs coach Nasreddine Nabi has praised his team’s effort following a draw against Mamelodi Sundowns in the Betway Premiership match at FNB Stadium on Wednesday.
This was Nabi’s first game with Amakhosi this season, after he was granted special leave to attend to family matters in Tunisia.
Despite the draw, Amakhosi remain in second position in the Betway Premiership log table with 10 points, behind log leaders Sekhukhune United, who also have 10 points but a better goal difference.
“There are indeed situations we could have dealt with better by making better decisions,” Nabi said.
“But also, I think as much as we could have done better, we should also recognize the quality of the opponent’s goalkeeper (Ronwen Williams), and he made good saves because he is a good goalkeeper.”
Nabi’s team created many chances against the Brazilians but failed to capitalize on them efficiently.
Despite the lack of goals, Nabi was impressed with his team’s display, especially considering their improvement from last season.
“But all in all, we will continue to work very well, and there are other players that are coming, especially strikers,” he emphasized.
“With more players joining us, we believe we can continue doing a great job.”
The Tunisian mentor also praised his striker, Wandile Duba, for his impressive display, despite not scoring.
“But today (on Wednesday), we played against a big team of Sundowns with great defenders, and a player like Duba played well, it’s just that he was playing against Sundowns,” the former AS FAR coach concluded.
“I think also as Duba was pressing too much, sometimes you can lose a little bit of freshness when you get in front of the goals.”
With Nabi back at the helm, Amakhosi will look to continue their unbeaten run when they take on Golden Arrows at Moses Mabhida Stadium on Saturday.
