Nabi Vows To Rebuild And Improve In Second Season

Entering his second season as head coach, Nasreddine Nabi has promised that Kaizer Chiefs will show significant improvement after a disappointing first term.
In his debut season, Nabi was unable to lead the club to a top-eight finish in the Betway Premiership, with the team ending the campaign in ninth place.
However, the season ended on a high note, as the Amakhosi broke a 10-year trophy drought by winning the Nedbank Cup.
Nabi has consistently maintained that he is at Chiefs to rebuild the squad, and this season, fans are expecting the team to challenge for a top-four spot or even the championship.
“Regarding the league title, I wouldn’t say about the title,” Nabi said. “But I’m going to take it game by game, and I’m pretty sure that we will be better next season.”
The Chiefs will open their 2025/26 season with an away match against Stellenbosch at DHL Stadium on Sunday at 17:30.
Chiefs have a strong recent record against Stellenbosch, having beaten them three times last season—both league fixtures and their Nedbank Cup quarter-final match.
“It’s going to be a tough league, but we know where we come from and where we want to go, and we are looking forward to it,” Nabi added during the Betway Premiership launch on Tuesday.
