Ndamane Sets Sights On Bafana’s World Cup Dreams

With the 2026 FIFA World Cup just eight months away, TS Galaxy defender Khulumani Ndamane has spoken about his dream of representing Bafana Bafana on the global stage in North America.

Ndamane, who made his Bafana Bafana debut at the end of last season, has quickly established himself as a key figure at Galaxy — impressing national team coach Hugo Broos with his consistent performances.

Furthermore, the 21-year-old played the entire 90 minutes in his country’s do-or-die clash against Rwanda at Mbombela Stadium on the 14th of October 2025, which resulted in Bafana Bafana securing their place at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

“The issue regarding the final team is in the hands of the coach; my job is to push the same way I’ve been pushing because the coach saw what I’ve been doing in the team at TS Galaxy, so I have to push,” said Ndamane.

Although he’s cemented his place in Broos’ team recently, the former Kaizer Chiefs development player still faces stiff competition from the likes of Mbekezeli Mbokazi and Thabo Moloisane, with the race to cement a starting berth in the heart of Bafana’s defense still wide open.

The man from the North Coast of KwaZulu-Natal has seen his good performances give rise to speculation around his future.

However, Ndamane has expressed his calmness and suggested that his immediate focus remains assisting his current employers in reaching their objectives.

“My job is to play, people always talk, I’m not aware of any talks with teams. So, if they talk in the media, they talk; my job is to play football. God will make a plan, it’ll happen the way it’ll happen,” added Ndamane.

For now, Ndamane’s attention turns to TS Galaxy’s Carling Knockout quarterfinal clash against Manqoba Mngqithi’s Golden Arrows at King Zwelithini Stadium on Sunday (15:00), where he’ll look to continue his fine form.
