Nigeria Appoints New Coach For The Super Eagles
The Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) has announced the appointment of Bruno Labbadia as the new head coach of the Super Eagles.
The German tactician replaces Finidi George, who had a brief stint as interim coach following the departure of Jose Peseiro.
“German, Bruno Labbadia, becomes 37th Head Coach of the Super Eagles,” said the statement.
“The Nigeria Football Federation has announced that it has reached an agreement with German tactician, Bruno Labbadia, to become the Head Coach of Nigeria’s Senior Men National Team, Super Eagles.”
Labbadia, a seasoned Bundesliga coach with experience at clubs like Bayer Leverkusen, Hamburg, VfB Stuttgart, VfL Wolfsburg, and Hertha Berlin, takes over the Super Eagles just 12 days before their crucial 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying campaign against Benin and Rwanda.
This marks Labbadia’s first coaching job outside of Germany. He has a successful track record in the Bundesliga but faces the challenge of leading the Super Eagles to continental success.
